Between September 2022 and October 2023, all the grey bins in our municipality were equipped with a chip in order to collect precise data on household waste management. According to the Board of Aldermen, the information collected over a representative period should allow for the development of a "zero waste" strategy.
To get an idea of the current progress of this project, the LSAP raised the question at the Municipal Council on 31 March.
The following information was communicated to us by the Board of Aldermen:
What is the status of the data collection? What methods are used for their collection?
The data was collected over one year by measuring the weight of the bins equipped with a chip.
Have you already begun to develop a strategy? If so, what are its main components?
The collected information has been transmitted to an external company, which is currently developing a concept. In May, it will be presented to the "Klima Team."
Given that the use of the grey bins incurs a cost, could this result in financial benefits for the citizens?
Not yet known.
As soon as we have more information in May, we will communicate it to you.
